Five-time World Player of the Year Messi discovered his love of football – and of his brunette future bride – in the northern Argentine town of Rosario where their two children, Thiago and Mateo were baptized.
Local newspaper Clarin reports that Argentine singer and wife of Manchester City striker Aguero, Karina, has been hired to entertain the expected 600 guests at the wedding, even as city officials express security concerns at the event.
“Messi always moves around naturally in the city, but we have to gauge the implications of the arrival of world football stars in Rosario,” a source told AFP.
The wedding planner is reported to be Barbara Diez, wife of a close ally of President Mauricio Macri, while over 20 hairdressers will be on hand to cater to the high-profile guests.
For wedding gifts, Messi and his wife have reportedly asked for donations to the player’s children’s charity, the Leo Messi Foundation.
